‘Day by Day by Day’ represents a creative journey, one that began in 2018 and continues today. It includes over 1400 images created through my daily art practice. Inspiration for the work comes from the physical and natural environment, my emotions and experiences. The finished pieces are like time capsules, each containing the artifacts of a particular moment in time and space. Shown all together, we can see growth over time in a non-linear way. It’s a reminder of all the steps it takes to get from one point to another, that we keep going, keep creating, keep transforming, and that there’s beauty in that experience.

Stephanie Krimmel is a digital artist exploring concepts of time, scale and human experience in her work. Currently she is creating a time-based series of digital paintings called the Daily Art Habit. She works every day, creating a new painting from the previous day’s work. Before becoming a practicing artist, Stephanie’s career was in Web site development and UX. She lives and works in Seattle, USA, where she is a member of Shift Gallery. When not making art, she can be found skiing or hiking in the Cascades with her family or coaxing life out of a plot at the rooftop community garden nearby.
