Shunpike facilitates the use of a dedicated 1,100 sq. ft. workshop, rehearsal, and presentation space at 2+U in downtown Seattle (2nd Ave & University Street). The Studio was created with underserved creative communities in mind, those most affected by gentrification and displacement, and is available at no cost to selected musical and movement artists.
RESIDENCY PROGRAM
Applications for Q4 (October-December) are now open!
Due August 31.
Every quarter, we welcome new or returning artists and artist groups to use The Studio free of charge. Artists can utilize the space to generate and rehearse new work, host small events such as performances, classes, and exhibitions, or just exist in a distraction free environment. Each artist or arts group gets the studio to themselves for a minimum of 4 hours once a week for up to three months.
EVENTS
Selected musical and movement artists and groups will have the opportunity to use The Studio free of charge for a one-off event. It is a space for artists to create, practice, gather, and reflect.
The Studio is available for one-off events on Saturdays from 6 PM – 10 PM. Requests for alternate times will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
