ANTiPODE

What is ANTiPODE? A Seattle-based LLC founded by two jet-lagged immigrants from Tehran.

Why do we exist? To use our immigrant experience to: i) create an art bridge between Seattle and other cities, and ii) transform unfamiliar spaces in Seattle into art homes—where artists can present their work and connect with each other and their audiences.

How do we work? ANTiPODE operates along two main axes: a) Art exhibitions, which are our material to build the art bridge, and b) Events, which are our invitation cards to bring local community to our art homes. Our events include artist talks, workshops, film screenings, and experimental music performances.

To create harmonious and engaging art exhibitions, we rely on our connections with visual artists, filmmakers, and design communities in Seattle, New York, Vancouver, Paris, London, and Rennes. To make our events vibrant and welcoming, we draw on our strong local ties to the music community, including the Seattle Jazz Fellowship and Ground Hum, as well as partnerships with local press, businesses, and nonprofits such as PublicDisplay.Art, Forest for the Trees, the Pioneer Square Art Walk community, and Glasswing shops.
