In his work as an artist and an organizer, Martin Tran strives to create spaces for artists who are not often seen and heard. Seven years ago he helped revive the Seattle Asian American Film Festival (SAAFF), serving as Co-Director for the last four years.
A graduate of The Evergreen State College with an emphasis in video production, Martin also directs and produces his own short films. His most recent films, Phởmily Feud and American Girl, have played in festivals across North America. He is currently serving as Co-Producer on the upcoming Vanishing Seattle web series that will document the displaced and disappearing institutions, small businesses, and cultures of Seattle. Martin is a firm believer in the power of art to reflect, unite, and empower our communities, and is excited to help create the next Artists of Color Expo and Symposium (ACES).
