Kasi Gaarenstroom (She/They) is a Filipino American arts professional who has built a career creating spaces where people can connect through film, performance, and shared creativity. Before stepping into their role as Senior Programs Coordinator, Kasi worked at the Museum of Pop Culture, where they produced lively public programs and film events that celebrated diverse voices and brought pop culture to life. At the Seattle International Film Festival, they led year-round cinema programming that blended first-run films, repertory favorites, and community partnerships, helping audiences discover new stories while strengthening Seattle’s connection to the global film scene. Across every project, Kasi’s goal has been simple: make art accessible, exciting, and deeply rooted in the community that surrounds it.

Outside of work, Kasi is an avid movie lover who firmly believes that THE MUMMY (1999) is a perfect film, a devoted Dungeons & Dragons player, and an active member of Seattle’s community theater scene. They also screen films for SXSW, Tribeca, and Sundance, keeping their finger on the pulse of emerging filmmakers and fresh perspectives in independent cinema. On any given weekend, you might find them rolling d20s with friends, making the most of their Regal Crown Club Card membership, performing on stage, or cuddling up with their beloved cat, Biko.
