Shunpike’s Storefronts program is a public art exhibition and pop-up program that came about in the wake of the 2008 economic downturn. Beginning in 2010, Shunpike has developed this program into a year-round paid opportunity for artists, in collaboration with both public and corporate offices. We’ve partnered with Amazon in their South Lake Union campus since 2013, this year hosting 16 artists’ works.
Following an extensive panel review process, the following artists have been chosen to exhibit their work in the upcoming year.
2024 Round 1 Artists (on view February 7 – August 4, 2024): Julie Alpert, Vivian Li, Fiona Tang, Dionne Bonner, Courtney Martin, Emily Bromberg, Lily Gray, and Kyung Hee Im.
2024 Round 2 Artists (on view August 21, 2024 – February 2, 2025): Esther Ervin, Yolanda Galery, Ruben Rodriguez, Shima Star, Lalitha Bandaru, Rulin Ma, Jueun Shin, and Mezcla Collective (H.R. Emi, Victoria Urrutia, Esmeralda Vasquez, Rosie Saldana, and Cindy Lemus.)
Shunpike empowers artists through equitable access to vital expertise, opportunities, and business services. We envision a community where independent artists and arts groups thrive creatively and economically, and where their work is widely valued as fundamental to the cultural, social, and economic wellbeing of Washington state.
