Seattle Gay News: Roxy Doll Memorial Media Lab (SGN Media Lab for short) is a program founded with one sole purpose: building a safe and supportive space for emerging LGBTQIA+ creatives by LGBTQIA+ creatives. Named after the late and sainted transgender woman drag queen Miss Roxy Doll, who built her legacy upon empowering the next generation of upcoming LGBTQIA+ creatives and artists with her weekly show “The Dollhouse” at Neighbours Nightclub, the SGN Media Lab helps to connect resources, opportunities, and funding to underserved LGBTQIA+ communities in the Seattle-Tacoma area. With a dedicated space next to the Seattle Gay News office in Capitol Hill, SGN Media Lab offers a place for individuals to develop their skills whether it be in writing, photography, visual or graphic arts, video/audio production, performing arts, etc… Participants hone in their craft while participating in podcast shows, community events, and/or other creative projects.
