Seattle ARCH

Seattle ARCH (Activists Remembered, Celebrated and Honored), founded in 2013, is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Seattle’s Freeway Revolt. This diverse, far-reaching citizen movement of the 1960s and 70s was instrumental in halting two major freeway and significantly downsizing a third, saving parks, shorelines and thousands of homes and businesses. Seattle ARCH works to make this history accessible to current and future generations. Initiatives include community outreach and education; historical research and documentation; historic preservation; fundraising; media relations; public speaking; and communication with elected officials and key stakeholders. We are also collaborating on the production, promotion and distribution for two versions of a documentary film, one shorter and one longer, describing Seattle’s Freeway Revolt.
