Plas Newydd Farm Arts Initiative

The PN Farm Arts Initiative is a place-based, collaborative endeavor based at Plas Newydd Farm in Ridgefield, Washington. The Initiative creates a space where the local arts community and the general public can come together for creation, conversation and exploration. Through a combination of workshops, short-term artists residencies and exhibitions, we will delve into the stories of this unique and historical property together, as the farm undergoes a major habitat restoration project. In the Initiative’s first years, we are offering one to three opportunities per month for folks to gather and create together. Workshop themes include writing, visual arts, crafts, and more. We are working deliberately to create opportunities for artists and artisans from around Southwest Washington, and are also engaging with artists who are interested in nature-based art from across the wider region. We are working with local schools to provide both field trip opportunities for school-aged children, and professional development opportunities for teachers. We plan to offer short-term residencies to artists and writers beginning in 2024.
