ISM Festival

ISM Festival is an artist-driven multi-venue music and visual arts event. We present 70-80 performing artists and filmmakers across experimental music, film, and performance art disciplines—including noise, drone, free improvisation, electroacoustic composition, and experimental cinema. We create an intentional space sheltered from algorithmic homogenization and commercialized conformity, where emerging and established performers can present boundary-pushing work to intergenerational audiences. ISM operates through a volunteer organizing collective and collaborates with downtown Olympia venues to create a walkable festival circuit.

ISM Festival has been a Shunpike-affiliated group since 2026.
