DanceIn Schools

With DanceIn Schools, we aim to revitalize school dances by showing middle school and high school aged students a fun and ethical means of enjoying a concert performance with real musicians providing live dance music. This will one, employ musicians of all ages, two encourage a fun and ethical environment for the students and musicians and three create an environment that shows students an example of music as a career for those in school band and those interested in music outside of school. My dance band is a unique dance band in and from the Pacific Northwest that makes dance music that is suitable for all ages yet contemporary and accessible enough to inspire grade schoolers through high school students. There is generally little to no funding for such school dances through the public school system, so DanceIn Schools is the conduit to raise funds by local businesses, state arts agencies, and regional fiscal sponsors to provide a budget to pay local musicians such as Yogoman Burning Band to perform and inspire the youth of tomorrow not only on musical instruments but show them how to suitably move to the music. We will give a brief background of our musical experience to the students in attendance and then open the floor to questions from the students following our performance.
