Alutiiq Culture Camp

PNW Alutiiq Culture Camp is a Washington State-based Indigenous arts and cultural education initiative dedicated to supporting the continued practice of Sugpiaq Alutiiq arts, culture, language, and community through intergenerational learning and artistic practice. Our work centers Indigenous arts as living cultural practice and creates opportunities for Sugpiaq Alutiiq adults, families, artists, and community members living in Washington state and beyond to engage with traditional and contemporary Sugpiaq Alutiiq arts. Through culture camps, workshops, artist-led instruction, dance, music and drumming, carving, weaving, regalia arts, storytelling, and other hands-on artistic practices, we create spaces where Sugpiaq Alutiiq arts are actively practiced, shared, taught, and strengthened. A central focus of our work is restoring traditional knowledge pathways through community-based arts learning and intergenerational cultural practice.
