Artist Bio:Ai-Chun Huang is a Taiwanese multimedia artist based in Seattle whose practice spans experimental animation, painting, fiber art, public art, and digital installations. She received her M.F.A. in Sculpture from National Taiwan University of Arts (2010) and her B.F.A. in Fine Arts from National Taiwan Normal University (2007). Working across traditional and digital media, she creates poetic visual narratives that explore identity, cultural heritage, and the human journey through themes of life’s limitations, resilience, and transformation. Drawing inspiration from Buddhist philosophy and Taiwanese cultural imagery, her work blends hand-painted animation, symbolic painting, and site-specific installations to invite reflection on personal and collective experiences.

Ai-Chun’s acclaimed animation series The Holy Mountain has become the cornerstone of her artistic practice. The series received the Jing Shan Classic Cultural & Creative Arts Award for three consecutive years (2018–2020) and has been exhibited internationally, including in Taiwan (2022), CICA Museum in South Korea (2022), and numerous exhibitions and public art presentations throughout the greater Seattle area from 2022 to 2026. Combining hand-drawn animation with painting, The Holy Mountain transforms personal experiences into “video poetry,” using mountain imagery as a metaphor for the lifelong journey toward self-discovery and freedom.
